Dennis and Francis Hixson of Princeton, Texas (not pictured) were hauling a trailer full of hay behind their pickup truck when they experienced a tire blowout around 7 p.m., sending sparks from the rim into the trailer and starting a fire. The Hixsons own a land and cattle company and were forced to travel hundreds of miles for hay due to a drought in Texas. “[Francis] was just saying this was our worst year yet and I told her we had been through worse,” said Dennis Hixson, “and then the trailer caught on fire.”
